![]() When Bettman and league officials visited Nashville to tour the arena, thousands gathered on the arena plaza to greet them. Nashville offered a $20 million relocation bonus to any team that would relocate, and the Devils attempted to terminate their lease with the NJSEA before ultimately restructuring it to stay in New Jersey. In late 1995, rumors began to circulate that the New Jersey Devils would relocate to the planned Nashville Arena. In the following season, the Predators won their first Presidents' Trophy and Central Division title. The Predators advanced to their first Stanley Cup Finals in 2017, but were defeated by the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. In 2008, ownership of the team was transferred from Leipold to a locally based ownership group. After five seasons, the Predators qualified for their first Stanley Cup playoffs during the 2003–04 season. This did not come as a major shock because in the 2011 playoffs, fans wore gold shirts to gold-out Bridgestone Arena. Looking to distinguish themselves from the rest of the League, the Predators introduced a gold color to brand the franchise. I bought all three jerseys because of their comfortable feel. The best part about it was the classic feel it brought on the ice, even though the franchise had a shallow history. It was navy and contained a navy version of the main logo, a black and navy checkerboard along the waist, and a circular shoulder logo with the tiger skull in the middle. The third jersey debuted on Novemagainst the St. The Predators may have swung and missed on their first alternate jersey, but they got it right on their second attempt. ![]() On the away jersey, “Nashville” was added to the crest with the team logo and navy triangle in the background.
